Keith McAslan is an Operating Partner at Blackford Capital. Keith brings with him more than 40 years of diverse business experience, including 26 years as a CEO and CFO, leading multi-national, manufacturing, technology and distribution companies. Keith has been active in North America, Europe, Asia and South Africa with companies ranging from $30 million to $400 million in revenue. Keith began his career with Rockwell International Corporation, spending 12 years with the Fortune 100 diversified industrial products company. However, he has spent most of his career working for private equity firms as a CEO and CFO, these firms include Blackstone Group, The Sterling Group, Stonebridge Partners, Comvest Partners, Republic Financial Corporation, and Thyssen Bornemisza Group executing buy, build and sell strategies and leading turnarounds.
His most recent success was as President of Velcon Filters for The Sterling Group which he grew from $48 million in revenue to $120 million in 24 months both organically and with international acquisitions then executed a sale to Parker Hannifin at over a 12X multiple of EBITDA. He is also the Managing Partner of McAslan Consulting, which is a boutique advisory services firm specializing in assisting senior executives, corporate teams, private equity companies and Boards with the successful execution of strategies for companies developing and implementing their competitive advantage, as well as turn-around situations.
Keith has successfully executed International acquisitions and managed Global Operations being customer-focused and results-oriented demonstrating a proven track record of driving growth organically and with acquisitions, improving profitability, global and regional expansion, motivating multi-cultural teams, and driving change initiatives.
Keith is a published author of three business books: Due Diligence Secrets, Internal Controls and the Business Owners Handbook. His management training includes Strategic Planning at the Harvard Business School with Dr. Michael Porter; The Management Program at Northwestern University, Kellogg School of Business; and the Rassias Executive French Emersion Program at Dartmouth College and Arles, France. Keith was a finalist for the prestigious Denver Business Journal’s 2010 CFO of the Year Award. This award was based his accomplishments in turning around and selling Western Forge (manufacturer of Sears Craftsman tools) for 13X EBITDA and saving over 450 jobs in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Keith holds a BBA and MBA from the University of Mississippi. He is married to Mary Sue, his wife of 40 years who is a PharD. and Director of Quality and Patient Safety for Eisenhower Heath System in Rancho Mirage, California and has a Six Sigma Black Belt . Keith and Mary Sue have two sons, Charles “Chip” who with his wife Kate and daughters Liv and Avery live in Orange County California while youngest son John resides in Denver, Colorado . Keith stays active golfing, traveling and enjoying the weather while living in Palm Springs, California.
