Deal Team Junior Analyst Internship Program
Blackford’s Deal Team Junior Analyst program is more than an internship. Our undergraduate team members are hands-on, working on active deals and supporting companies with accountability for successful results.
Program Overview
The Junior Analysts in our internship program have the opportunity to work with some of our country’s most experienced business leaders and be a part of creating value and jobs that impact our investors, portfolio businesses and communities.
We provide one of the few undergrad private equity internship programs in the country. Skip the typical investment banking path into the PE field and get the experience you need to provide valuable services to private equity firms straight out of college.

The Internship Experience
As a Junior Analyst, you’ll work closely with our investment and operational teams and gain hands-on experience and training in areas such as deal sourcing, portfolio company governance, deal execution and detailed due diligence.
Each intern will participate on at least one transaction during their internship, and will also:
Work with Real Companies
You’ll travel to one of our portfolio companies to work with the executive team. We’ll assign interns to a portfolio company based on their specific background and interests.
Receive Formal Training
As part of the junior analyst program, you’ll receive specific and formal training on modeling in a course taught by a Grand Valley State University professor.
Contribute Your Insights
You’ll be asked to participate and sit in on meetings both with the internal Blackford team and our portfolio company executive teams.
Develop and Pitch Deals
The final project for junior analysts is to develop detailed deal and company analyses and present findings to our executive committee in a formal deal pitch. The executive committee will consider your analysis in final deal decisions.

“I’ve learned so much that regular finance or business classes can’t teach and that most other internships can’t offer an intern. “
