Kent Walters joined Blackford in 2021, bringing experience in investment banking, corporate finance and entrepreneurial roles. Kent works within the Portfolio Company Operations Team, working to promote growth, efficiency, and the overall success of the portfolio companies.
History
Prior to joining Blackford Capital, Kent was the Finance Director at Taqtile, Inc., an augmented reality software company headquartered in Seattle, WA. At Taqtile, he oversaw all Finance functions and was responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, capital raises, investor relations and human resources. Prior to Taqtile, Kent worked as Senior Corporate Strategy Manager for Microsoft’s Cloud + Enterprise Group, where he was responsible for financial modeling and analysis of the group’s M&A activity. Kent started his career as an analyst and associate at Citigroup, first in Leveraged Finance and later in Project Finance.
Education
Kent received his B.S. degree in Commerce with Finance & Accounting concentrations from the University of Virginia, as well as an MBA from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business. While at Ross, he also completed a fellowship with the Tauber Institute for Global Operations.
